Shine Not Burn By Elle Casey Part 2
Saturday, August 31st-Finished
Confession time: Along with tattooed bad boys, I may...may have a weak spot for cowboys..maybe it's the whole ma'am thing, or the southern gentlemen thing. I'm not sure, but I have to put them into my book boyfriend category.
I thought this book was going to last me at least two days as it was about 300 pages, but I could not put this book down.
Again I fell asleep with my KOBO in my hands, woke up and just continued reading (as I said before, don't judge me).
I loved how this book played out and I thought Elle Casey did a good job describing how true love can make or break important decisions and your supposed feelings.
Throughout the book, there were many a times when I literally LOL'd or almost had a tear rolling down my cheek. (okay I did, but in my defense, some of those tears were out of laughter)
I ended up with 6 pages of highlighted passages, but I will only provide a few of the ones I thought were the best.
"Mike check one! One, one one. Mike check two! Two, two, tow. Mike check three four and close the door. The door, the door. Five and six that's Nikki Sixx. Of Motley Crue and me and you. Mike-a, mike-a, mike-a-phone check, check check...."
"I looked at him confused. "but you told me to take off." he laughed, his round belly jiggling under his shirt. "No, missy, I told you to split, not take off. Split your cards into two separate hands and play them separately."
"My feet are tired. I went to a barn dance last night and stayed up 'til one a.m. Not I'm too pooped to piddle."
"Sometimes you can't appreciate the true beauty of a thing until you've experienced it for yourself"
"If you hold in your gas, if you don't break wind, you can spontaneously combust." She looked at us like we were the stupid ones. "It’s a medical fact, look it up."
"Sometimes, we just have to go where the wind takes us and see where we end up"
"Oh yeah, the old dig-food-schrapnel-out-of-my-beard move. Sexy"
Well done Elle Casey!
Now I am off to find a new book. hmmmm....what will I read????
Until my next Blog...

Shine Not Burn By Elle Casey Part 1
Friday, August 30th-Started
This book had me from "IT HAPPENED IN VEGAS"!
_______________________________________________
Synopsis Goodreads.com:
IT HAPPENED IN VEGAS.
I can't be held responsible. Things that happen there are supposed to stay there, right? Right? Yeeeah. Not so much.
Andie's just days away from tying the knot, but there's just ooooone little glitch. Apparently, she's already married. Or someone with her name is married to a guy out in Oregon of all places, and the courthouse won't issue her a marriage license until it's all cleared up. Tripping her way through cow pies and country songs to meet up with a man who gets around places on horseback is her very last idea of how to have a good time, but if she's going to get married, make partner at the firm, and have two point five kids before she's thirty-five, she needs to get to the bottom of this snafu and fix it quick ... before her fiance finds out and everything she's been working toward goes up in flames
________________________________________________
Hmmm...will she end up dumping her fiance for her 'husband'?
Until my next Blog when I have completed this book.

Sometimes It Lasts By Abbi Glines (Sea Breeze #5) Part 2
Friday, August 30th-Finished
If I had of had a choice I would not have put this book down, then again I didn't choose to put the book down either. I ended up passing out with my KOBO in my hand and woke up to my alarm this morning. Needless to say I was not impressed. Luckily I spent my lunch hour at work reading a few chapters and finished the book as soon as I got home. (Pheww)
When I started reading this book I was addicted. That is nothing new, because with all of Abbi Glines books I have a hard time doing anything else other than reading until I have finished the book.
I loved having more to read about Cage and Eva and this story lived up to all of the hype.
When those reviews said that a Kleenex box was a necessity, they were not lying. Within the first chapter I had a tear already rolling down my cheek.
This book contained so much that I was almost satisfied at the end. But, I don't think I will be completely satisfied until I know what the future holds for all of the Sea Breeze gang and JEREMY.
Again throughout the book I highlighted some of my favourite quotes/passages.
Hopefully these quotes get you so interested you go and start the Sea Breeze series just to get to read this book.
"We aren't promised tomorrow. My daddy taught me that when I was a little girl and I didn't understand why my momma wasn't coming home. Then again, when I lost the boy who I thought I’d grow old with, I was reminded of the fact one more time. Life is short."
"I love that man." I said more to myself than anyone. "He loves you too. You're his world, Eva. You always have been. "
"It's thick and thin, girl. It always has been."
"He was a man who deserved to love as deeply as I had loved and to feel that same love back. I would not keep him from that."
'What we have...it's always. She and I...We're always."
"I'm always motherf***ing right. It's what I do." -->Side note...this is my new catch phrase when someone admits to be being right...FYI friends and family.
'Slowly he lifted his head and looked down at me. "You're my world," he said simply"
"You look like my princess doll that Preston got me for my birthday. Except her tummy ain't fat."
I hope that the next book is out sooner rather than later, so get it going Abbi Glines (just kidding...not kidding...yes kidding..Not)
Great job as always Abbi Glines..can't wait for the rest of the books for all your series.
Until my next Blog....

Sometimes It Lasts By Abbi Glines (Sea Breeze #5) Part 1
Thursday, August 29th-Started
The whole Sea Breeze series has has me hooked from the get-go.
At first I wasn't even paying attention and I just started reading the first book Breathe, then i was caught by surprise when I found out it was going to be a series of at least 6 books. (can you say wooo-hoooo?)
Sometimes It Lasts is the continuation of Eva and Cage whoms first book was While It Lasts.
I have been waiting for this book for a long time and now that it is finally here I am super excited and will most likely be blogging about the book in no time.
The reviews have all been praising this book, which is the case for most of Abbi Glines' books, so I expect to not be let down. I am however going to be prepared with my box of Kleenex as everyone is predicting I am going to need them.
I am not ashamed to say that some books get to me. I am comfortable enough with my sexuality that i can admit that some books make me tear up a bit (or cry hysterically..whatev's...NBD).
Until my next Blog, when I finished this book.

Keep Me Still By Caisey Quinn (Keep Me Still #1) Part 2
Wednesday, August 28th-Finished
WOW.....Landen again...I heart you.
This book did not let me down.
I still am not sure what specifically has me drawn to this book.
Maybe it's the love that Landen has for Layla, or the passion they share for each other.
Or
Maybe it is the way Layla see's life or the things that are important to Landen.
I am not sure, but whatever it is I know I am going to have a hard time waiting until November for book 2 Hold Us Close.
Again I have highlighted a few quotes that I was either like 'Nice line' or 'DFKM'.
"Boys," she sighs out, raising her voice back to its normal decibel. "Can't live with 'em, can't tie 'em to your bed and use them as you see fit."
"Right now I want to eat those double-stuffed Oreos you're hoarding behind your makeup bag and watch Pitch Perfect until I pass out on this futon."
"I sit up and peek in the plastic bad. A half pint of Ben & Jerry's Half Baked, a box of Kleenex, and a tube of shimmery coral-coloured lip gloss. I check the paper bag. A few sample size bottles of liquor stare back at me."
"If that's how you treat an enemy, God help any boy you consider an ally. In fact, you still look a little dazed and turned on. Please don't try to make out with me tonight. I've already had my share of sexually confused partners - I'm sticking with straight boys only from here on out."
I think I may do this for my blogs because this way it gives a sneak peak without me giving any spoilers. Plus I think it makes it more exciting, because you will be at the edge of your computer chair thinking, "OMG who said that and in what context."
**But I guarantee some spoilers will be given at some point along my merry Blogging way**
Until my next Blog...

Let You Leave By Caisey Quinn (Keep Me Still #0.5) Part 1
Tuesday, August 27th-Started
This novella should be an interesting lead up into the main book which is Keep Me Still. (a miniature series...i like it)

The synopsis from KOBO.com:
Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that will either bind them together or tear them apart.

Hmmm...What are those secrets?
This book has me interested not only from the synopsis but also because the guys name is Landen and that is close enough to Landon from A Walk to Remember...so I am reading this one for my best friend on principle alone.
Until my next Blog when I have completed this novella.

Faithful By Kelly Elliot (Wanted #3) Part 2
Tuesday, August 27th-Finished
Oh man...why do I torture myself.
Now I have to wait until January 2014 to find out what happens...UGGHHHH
BUT...with regards to Faithful...I was not disappointed.
As I had mentioned, what I love about Kelly Elliot's books, is that there are multiple POV's so even though this was 'Heather and Josh's Story', everyone was involved every step of the way.
In this book 2 more characters were brought into the main mix of things...Jessie and Scott.
The next book is going to be 'their' story and I for one will be biting my nails in anticipation. (Luckily I know have bio gel nails so no nails will be hurt in this process).
I am not even sure if I can pinpoint one thing that I loved most in this book. There were so many moments that I was either laughing or crying or OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS, NO WAY, UH UH etc.
I knew I was going to have this problem, so I highlighted some quotes that went along with some of my reactions. I won't say who they are from, as I don't want to spoil too much because this book will definitely be worth the read. (Please, oh please read the first 2 before, otherwise you will be lost and that is never a good thing)
"Well, you see...when you make love and the man comes, he spreads his seed in the girl, and then all those little sperms move on up in there and look for the egg." #truestory
"has more class in her pinkie finger than you do in your whole body. I've never in my life met anyone who makes me feel the way she does when I'm with her. Will you please leave now?"
"No...the biggest mistake of my life was walking away from her in the first place"
"I've never in my life...ever...felt this way with anyone. You're the air that I breathe, the light in my darkness, the hope o my future"
I have dibs on the last one to be part of my eloping vows. #justsaying
Now on to my next conquest a.k.a my next book
Until my next Blog...

Faithful By Kelly Elliot (Wanted #3) Part 1
Monday, August 26th-Started
So this book is the 3rd installment in a series I have been reading since December 2012.
The first book was Wanted which was Ellie and Gunner's Story.
The second book was Saved which was Ari and Jefferson's Story.
In the Saved Heather and Josh's relationship started to flourish.
It was a whirlwind relationship from the beginning.
Now when everything should be finally falling into place for Heather and Josh tragedy strikes when Josh is in a car accident.
Synopsis from Goodreads.com:
Josh wakes up with no memory of Heather, and his ex-girlfriend, Victoria, is his nurse. Heather must decide if she’ll risk being hurt again and fight for the one man she loves with all her heart.
Will Josh remember Heather when she needs him the most? Or will Victoria take advantage of this opportunity, pushing Heather away from Josh for good?
So excited (as usual). I have waited a long time for this book. There is one more book in this series, but what I love about Kelly Elliot’s books, you see the other characters throughout the story. Some chapters are even from the other characters POV.
Until my next Blog when I have completed this book.

Get Bent By C.M Stunich (Hard Rock Roots #2) Part 2
Monday, August 26th-Finished
WOW...Intense.
What can you expect in this book? Drugs, Sex, Alcohol and Love. Oh and a crazy rollercoaster of a plot.
For some of the book I felt like I had to focus hard to keep up with all that was going on.
For almost half the book, a mystery was trying to be solved and with me being me, I was trying to figure it out before the book got there first.
Well, I failed that miserably because I would was way off.
Even though at some points during the book I was confused, at the end I was like "Ohhhh, I get it"-well sort of. LOL.
This book kept me on my toes and left me mind boggled.
Turner was the show stopper for me in this book, the way he evolved was well written and I could feel the passion he had for Naomi.
The two of them together will definitely keep me coming back for more. They share this raw passion for eachother and despite their dark past, they are starting to realize a bright future can be made together.
The ending was not was I completely expected, but hopefully all my questions are answered in Book 3.
Hopefully I don't have to wait long for the series to continue. So come on Stunich I am ready for the next.

Real Ugly By C.M Stunich (Hard Rock Roots #1) Part 2
Saturday, August 24th-Finished
C.M Stunich definitely knows how to write the about the dark side of love.
This book I was hooked from the beginning and all throughout I was trying to keep up with the story as it is so intense.
Turner Campbell and Naomi Knox are not your typical male and female in a romance type story.
I love the alternating POV so we can see what happens in both their heads to understand what is truly going on in their relationship. Turner and Naomi have so much going on that this was a necessity, a one side story in this book would not have felt complete.
This book I don't want to give spoiler alerts, so I will just provide some quotes and recommend this book.
"Turner Campbell doesn't keep secrets of his own, not even little ones. Learned my lesson by watching the people around me fuck up royally, eaten alive from the inside. Stupid ass motherfuckers. Once it becomes a secret, it's hard to let it out. If you don't keep it inside to begin with, it doesn't get the chance to fester and rot. So, honest is my policy. If it makes me a dick, so be it."
"To love something to someone, you have to be willing to give up everything else you care about to make things right for them, even if the decision is hard or it sucks or it makes you so miserable you want to tear your teeth out of your fucking skull."
I am not sure what it is about Stunich, but I love her books.
Can't wait till book 2 Get Bent.
Until my next Blog about Get Bent.

Real Ugly By C.M Stunich (Hard Rock Roots #1) Part 1
Thursday, August 22nd-Started
I read the Never Say Never series as well as started the Never Too Late series by C.M Stunich and loved her writing, so I saw this series and decided to give it a try.
This is a two part series (yay) about Naomi Knox and Turner Campbell. This series looks like it will be intense and if it is anything like the other series of hers that I have read, I can only assume that it will be about two people who are a bit messed up.
Can't wait to find out.
Until my next Blog when i have completed this book.

Thomas and January by Fisher Amelie (Sleepless #2) Part 12
Thursday, August 22nd-Finished
I know some people may believe that soul mates don't exist, but this book represents just that.
Tom thought he was in love with Kelly (one of his best friends) and when she didn't feel the same way about him he fled New York to get away. He thought what he felt was being heartbroken from losing the love of his life.
He became a bitter person and tried to turn his heart off, but when that person " " comes into your life, the powers are against you and they sure were against Tom when it came to January and vice versa.
Six months past from Tom and January's explosive first kiss and they both couldn't stop thinking/dreaming of the other person.
As fate would have it they were heading off to Europe together to scout for new bands. (Blessing in disguise?)
I thought that maybe Tom had screwed it up big time with January when he made a huge mistake. Thinking that maybe he wasn't as smart as he should have been? That he would have let something so great go, without a proper fight?
Again at the end of the book I was left wanting more, but yet I was still satisfied with the ending. I know I said this before, but with this book I got to still read bits and pieces of Callum and Harper so I got to read more about their love. So I got my wish the last time, so maybe, just maybe it will happen again?
I am not sure if Fisher does this to me on purpose and is being a tease with a possible continuation or just trying to let us use our own imagination. I am hoping for the former, but know I will most likely have to settle for the latter. **bbm sad face**
Either way, these two books were both ones that I couldn't put down and definitely enjoyed.
Well done Fisher!!
And Abbi Glines, you didn't let me down with the recommendation in your review. So yes I will still read your book come the 27th and yes I will still wait for your upcoming books.
Until my next blog... (Still thinking of an epic ending to this line)

Callum & Harper by Fisher Amelie (Sleepless #1) Part 2
Wednesday, August 21st-Finished
Okay, this book was insane. Jury came back and those bad reviews were wrong, this book had me on the edge with hope in my heart and tears in my eyes. (But I am not one to cry over books...nope not me)
I have never read about two people having that much bad luck. I honestly thought that nothing good was going to come to Callum and Harper. Almost believed those reviews were right...almost...but then again almost doesn't count right....right.
They loved each other immensely, but couldn't share their feelings with each other out of fear they were not reciprocated. These doubts were all because they didn't grow up without the simple necessity of love. It's sad that this is actually real life for some people and it is easy to forget how lucky some of us are.
Callum and Harper had one thing after another that tested their friendship, relationship heck even their sanity and they always were there for each other.
They built a foundation and a family without even realizing it and it became obvious the more they had to deal with in their lives.
Poor Harper...enough said on that.
I felt for Callum when he felt that he thought he was going to lose Harper. I may or may not have shed a tear when I thought the book was going to end all wrong.
I would have loved to have more in the epilogue or even another story (I know, it's not like I am not asking for a lot) because I could definitely read more about these two. But I am still satisfied with how it ended, I feel content knowing what I know, but still a girl can wish.
I was hooked from the very beginning of this book and it was hard when I had to put the book down to get to bed so I could wake up in the morning for work. (Come on full time reading job -**shakes dice in hand, blowing on dice**-)
Now on to Sleepless Part 2
Until my next blog... (I am going to come up with a good line/quote just be patient)

Callum & Harper by Fisher Amelie (Sleepless #1) Part 1
Monday, August 19th-Started
This book was reviewed as a re-read by Abbi Glines whom i happen to love as an author, so twist my arm i guess this will be my next book. On top of that, it is part of a series (and we all know how much i love my series).
The book is said to be about two foster children who have the '18 disease' and are now going to be out on their own. Their only next option is to depend on each other to get through this time.
Most of the reviews state that it is hard to put down and an amazing book, but there are the odd reviews that say this book is overrated. I sincerely have a soft spot for the indie authors and books that some people seem to be to harsh about. In my experience these seem to be the books that i enjoy the most.
Maybe i am just a stubborn person and I just like to believe in the opposite of what people say. Or maybe it's just that these books are just misunderstood, either way we will see.
Let's see where this goes, i guess it all boils down to me..can i make or break this book??? (just kidding, i just am trying to feel a little special).
Until my next blog....when i have completed the book.

Let's see where this goes, i guess it all boils down to me..can i make or break this book??? (just kidding, i just am trying to feel a little special).
Until my next blog....when i have completed the book.

Take This Regret A.L. Jackson (Take This Regret #2)
Saturday, August 18th-Started
Sunday, August 18th-Finished
OMG I could not put this book down, love books like these.
I was so glad that I did read the prequel Lost To You, because it filled in a lot of blanks I would have had if I just went ahead and read Take This Regret.
With reading the synopsis for this book, I was still not prepared for what this book had in store.
The reviews were right; I was on an emotional roller coaster the whole time. Laughs, Happy Tears and Sad Tears.
The relationship between Christian and Elizabeth was up and down and I could never keep up with where the story was going to go. Just when I thought one thing would happen BAM, something I didn’t expect.
I don't want to say much more because I liked the surprise factor that I experienced so I will just say that I am sorry that I waited this long to read these books.
I am so excited for the Final Chapter If Forever Comes (Take This Regret #2), coming to an e-reader near you in September.
I can only assume that I will be pulling an all nighter because I won't be able to put that book down as well.
Once again...So excited!!!!!
Until my next Blog...

Lost to You A.L. Jackson (Take This Regret #0.5)
Saturday, August 17th-Started
Saturday, August 17th-Finished
This book is the Prequel to Take This Regret. It provides the beginning relationship for Elizabeth and Christian.
This book took place over a few months and was a fast forward of how these two met and how their relationship evolved.
Both Elizabeth and Christian tried hard to fight their feelings for eachother. Time and time again they tried to ignore the signs that they were meant to be.
They became best friends and soon realized they couldn't live without eachother.
As Lost To You was optional and not mandatory to read before Take This Regret, I am definitely happy i did read this first because i feel better prepared to continue reading about Christian and Elizabeth's story. I now have a better understanding of what obstacles they could possibly be facing next.
I have so many assumptions going on about Take This Regret as the reviews are saying that i should be prepared for an emotional roller coaster.
So excited!!
Until my next Blog.....

TRUE (True Believers#1) by Erin McCarthy
Friday, August 16th-Started
Saturday, August 17th-Finished
I may or may not have a 'thing/obsession' for books where the 'forbidden love' is inevitable.
Smart Girl loves the 'Tattooed Bad Boy'
Or
Poor Boy falls for the Rich Girl
Well I lucked out because this book touched a bit on both those scenarios. (Hmmm...Funny how things work out sometimes)
I loved Rory and Tyler throughout the whole book, showing that love can happen when you least expect it to, with someone whom 'everyone' least expects it to happen with.
Tyler was smart (Yeah, who knew the 'bad boy' had brains), had a strong sense of loyalty and took his responsibilities very seriously. Who also doesn't love a man with a hero complex? But, what made Tyler better was the love he had for his brothers, his 'TRUE family'.
Rory was real and honest along with her being smart. Some of her comments to Tyler and others were to funny to not literally LOL. I loved how genuine she came across and how she truly cared for her friends, Tyler and his 'family'. (Hence TRUER).
This book had me expressing a lot of emotions from laughing to crying and even sometimes anger and 'shaking my head moments'. To me this makes the book better because I 'feel' the story and I am not just 'reading' it.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, yes it is a series (Yay) and I cannot wait for 'SWEET' Jessica and Riley's story...coming to a e-reader near you in October.
Until my next Blog Post... (Insert cheesy catch phrase)
