Hell Without You By Ranae Rose Part 2

Sunday, October 6th-Finished

"Time changes everything, except what's meant to be" was the quote of the book and this definitely sums up the book.

Seven years had gone by since Clementine had been home to Willow Heights, but all it took was for her to see Donovan standing outside his truck in the rain in front of her grandmother’s house for every feeling to come back again.

Her plan was to come back to Willow Heights temporarily, until she could land a job in D.C. Clearly fate was against her because she finds herself staying with Donovan in her grandmother’s house (which he now owns) until her townhouse has been repaired from water damage. They find themselves in situations that have them walking down memory lane and back into each other’s life.

Donovan wasn’t the same after he came back from war, but the one thing that never changed, was his love for Clementine.

"My soul has been trapped outside of my body for the past ten years."
"Really?" She gripped her coffee mug, letting the ceramic warm her fingers. "Where is it?"
"Sitting right across from me." His voice went a little deeper, got a little rougher. "Don't pretend you didn't know that."

Donovan didn’t know the reason Clementine left Willow Heights, but when Clementine reveals the truth behind her departure, they both realize this is their chance to have a second chance with each other.

I found this story good with respect to the unconditional love these two shared. There were some parts of the book I would have loved to see more detail with, i.e. Were they in any relationships in the past seven years or did they both wait for each other?

I did like the twists in the book that added a little more to their story line, they kept me on my toes and acting like a Detective along with Clementine. I would have also loved to see more Ricardo especially when Donovan needed his help in Willow Heights.

Overall I would give this book a 3.5, great love story, but would have wanted more to what was already there.

I have read Ranae Rose’s Battered Not Broken books and I loved them both because of the different POV’s, maybe that is the plan for this, because I would love to know what was going on in his head throughout the different points in the book.

Until my next Blog when I have chosen a book.
