SWEET (True Believers #2) By Erin McCarthy Part 1

Sunday, October 20th-Finished

**Awww**
**Laugh**
**Swoon**
**Tear**

Those were pretty much the emotions that I felt over and over again throughout reading SWEET.

From the very beginning I knew I was going to love Riley and Jessica more than I loved Tyler and Rory (and that is saying something because I added Tyler to my book boyfriend list).

These two had me from the moment Jessica got off the bus and stepped into Riley's grimey neighbourhood;

"Why the hell were you riding the bus?" Riley glanced over at me and he was shaking his head in disbelief, amused. "Do you know who rides the bus?"
"Teenage boys and old men who smell like pee?"
"Exactly." He gave me a small laugh. "Welcome to paradise, Jessica."

Jessica puts her Interior Designing skills to good use and helps clean up the house after Riley receives a letter from the Social Worker regarding an upcoming visit regarding the custody of Easton.

Jessica starts to feel like she can be herself at Riley's, more so than she ever could at her own home.

Jessica and Riley decide to start dating to get to know eachother on another level after a lot of back and forths and misunderstandings between the two of them.

Riley wants Jessica to know that she is someone important to him, before they take their relationship to the next level.

"Luckiest. Guy. Ever." he said, then cocked his finger. "Write that down."

All along the way the two of them had me laughing and their easy going companionship. They may have come from two different worlds growing up, but it wasn't opposites attract for them because inside they had the same personality and complimented eachother.

'I guess we're both fucked, huh?"
"Looks that way."
"Then I guess it's a damn thing we found each other."

Jessica was still fighting the battle between being who she was and being who her parents wanted her to be. When her lies of where she has spent her summer are exposed to her parents she is forced to face them. She will finally have to decide if she is going to lead her own life, or follow her parents rules.

" My last name shouldn't be Sweet. It should be Sour. Jessica Sour. That was me.  A bit tart, mouth puckering, acidic mess."

I loved the way Jessica found her place within Riley's family. I wasn't sure how her relationship with Riley's brothers was going to play out since in TRUE Rory became a part of their family (TRUER), but Jayden took a real liking to Jessica more so than Easton in the beginning.

"I rubbed it into his skin and Jayden made sounds of enjoyment. Riley grinned. "You should see his face right now, Jess. I think he's working up a chub."
"Don't be disgusting." I told him primly. 'You're going to embarrass Jayden."
"No, it's actually true." Jayden said, glancing at me over his shoulder.

Jayden's one liners were hilarious in TRUE, but even better in SWEET. (Tears and Abs, Tears than Abs lol)

I loved that Jessica and Riley could joke around together, be sarcastic and not be so serious when together.

"I wish I had been more prepared. I could have really done something romantic here."
"What, like serenade me with Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend'?"
"Hell, no."
"Take me to the bow of a cruise ship and tell me I'm flying, like in Titanic?"
"Uh, no."
"Salsa dance with me to perfectly choreographed moves we magically know while a band suddenly appears behind us?"

Yet the sweetest words could be spoken between the two of them.

"I want you to know that what I believe in is us. You and me."

There is so much I can write about these two, but I don't want to spoil too much. So much happened between these two, good, bad, funny, sad. **sigh**

Great story Erin (and great name for your leading lady **winky face**)...I am going into book 3 with mixed feelings, but luckily I have until January to get myself prepared.

Until my next Blog when I have chosen a book.
