Another book I could not put down.
From the beginning this book had me thinking about what could possibly be the full outcome of the book. I made many assumptions (as usual) but to be honest, I didn't fully expect what some of the book gave me.
Cole (the FBI agent) was captivated by Savannah (rescued from a Cult) from the beginning. Cole had felt the need to protect her from the first moment he laid eyes on her.
Cole and Savannah's relationship is out of the ordinary from the get go, but Cole keeps his guard up as long as he can, trying to 'resist her'.
Cole is a man of mystery. He has been through many things throughout his life that have assisted him in molding him into the stand off person he is.
Savannah is trying to come to terms with the change that has occurred in her life. She no longer is under the watchful eye of the Cult, but has she fully escaped everything?
Throughout the book you feel the fight between Cole following his heart and following what he thinks should be reality.
I loved the alternating POV's (again as usual) as it gave us a true understanding of the passion behind these two.
Again, I have some quoted passages:
"You were confident and determined when most would have been terrified. You were teaching me. You refused to crumble"
"Wanting her was a powerful, primal need, an instinctive response, and one he hadn't experienced in a long time."
"I want to be your partner, not our project."
There is one other book I have not read from Kendall Ryan and I may have to give into temptation and read Working It.
Hmmm...
Until my next Blog when I have chosen my book.
